Industry 4.0
Before the emergence of Industry 4.0, if we rewind the history a little and go back to the past, we realize that everything starts with the Industrial Revolution-Industry 1.0. This revolution, which is started by the transition from muscle power to steam power and machines, is followed by the Industry 2.0 that is based on mass production and then Industry 3.0 that is based on automation of the systems. Today, there is 4.0 on the stage.
4.0, which is put forward for the first time at a fair in Germany, now represents cyber-physical systems, mass data and its analysis, artificial intelligence and advanced robotics, smart factories and integrated systems for us. Moreover, the most important goals of Industry 4.0 are speed, flexibility, productivity and efficiency. It is important for Industry 4.0 to make detailed mass data analysis in a short time and to use these analyses in the production processes in the best way in line with customer requests with the help of integrated, advanced systems and robots.
Therefore, production processes will be very fast and efficient thanks to smart robots that can learn thanks to artificial intelligence and unlimited data exchange. In other words, production will be much easier and it will become beyond the factories. Besides, decreasing costs due to a decrease in time are one of the positive impacts of this revolution.
Although this revolution seems mostly positive in general, surely it has also adverse aspects. One of them is that need for employees will decrease since the demand for robots and automation will increase. Hence, it is reported that many professional groups will no longer have importance. Also, although this revolution can cause the emergence of the new professions, implementing this transition perfectly requires great effort. In other words, it is very important to establish a balance in this transition.
The one thing that we all know and make sure is that we have 4.0 in our future. Hence, the faster we integrate into this revolution and embrace it, the more successful ahead we can be. Therefore, it is important for us to use this advantage while there is more time.
